According to Brittni Turner, a veterinarian at the Fredericksburg Veterinary Center, she repeatedly expressed her disbelief to the owner, thinking that there could not possibly be any more.
Last week, a Dalmatian named Luna from Texas gave birth to a whopping 16 puppies, which came as a shock to her owner. Luna went into labor at midnight on Thursday and delivered the first five puppies naturally at home. However, her labor stopped around 7 a.m. the next day, prompting her owner to take her to the Fredericksburg Veterinary Center. Veterinarian Brittni Turner advised her to bring Luna in for surgery since large dog breeds tend to have uncomplicated labor. During the surgery, vets discovered that Luna had more puppies than expected, and they miscounted the litter multiple times. Nonetheless, all of the puppies were safely delivered with the help of veterinarians.
The Fredericksburg Veterinary Center recently shared a post on Facebook, expressing the excitement and hard work that went into the birth of a litter of puppies. The staff worked tirelessly throughout the delivery, with every member of the team contributing to the process. Luna, the mother dog, gave birth to a total of 16 puppies, 11 of which were delivered through cesarean section. The veterinary center proudly shared photos of the new family, and reported that both the mother and her puppies are doing well following the surgery. While it may not have been quite as wild as 101 Dalmatians, the clinic felt like they had their hands full with this adorable and exciting delivery.
