It’s beyond comprehension how some people can just leave their pets behind like it’s no big deal. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened with poor Shey. When her family moved away, they left her at the Animal Rescue League of Iowa, but she didn’t let that get her down. Despite being a 14-year-old miniature poodle with hardly any teeth, limited sight, and hearing loss, Shey remained patient and hopeful for a new forever home. It took four long months, but eventually, someone saw past her age and disabilities and gave her the loving home she deserved.
Tristan, a young boy, didn’t seem to care about the shelter’s rules and regulations. He only wanted a cute little puppy to cuddle with. The staff introduced him to Shey, an affectionate dog who needed special attention due to his condition. Despite this, Tristan was determined to take care of Shey and decided to adopt him.
